The Happy Hikers will be riding the Gondola up the mountain and then hike the Lake Superior Hiking Trail over Moose Mountain on Thursday, Sept. 27. Enjoy the beautiful fall colors over the tree tops and then walking through the forest. This is one of our longer hikes, about 5 miles. Bring a sack lunch. I'd rate this a medium/difficult hike, due to a very steep descent from the first peak AND the longer length. It's a one-way hike, as we will start by going UP on the gondola and then hiking the trail to get back to the Gondola parking lot.

The Gondola ride costs $30 for adults and $27 for seniors (tax is extra). We'll be using only half of the ticket, but we must pay the whole amount. The ride opens at 10 am. We'll plan on buying our tickets and getting cued up for the first rides to the top.

Meet at the YMCA (tennis court side) at 9am. Sign in and carpool to the Lutsen Mountain Gondola Ride. (Suggested donation for driver is $2.) If you live at the West End, please plan to meet us at the Gondola Ride ticket area about 9:45. Hiking shoes, hiking sticks, hat & water are recommended.
