Family fun filled fundraiser for the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. This year the event celebrates the 41st running of the races! This event is held at the Gunflint Lodge waterfront on the south shore of Gunflint Lake. Single raflle this year for a $2100 Current Designs Solara 120 kayak; tickets $5eac The event times are as follows: 4:00 pm-7:30 pm Silent Auction 4:00 pm Kids Fun events begin 4:30 pm Food service begins 6:00 pm Canoe Races begin with the long distance race followed by many age and gender races with gunnel pumping as the finale. Race registration is at the waterfront. The Canoe Races are sponsored by the neighbors and friends of the upper Gunflint Trail. Proceeds from this event go to the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department.
