Centennial Trail Boardwalk Volunteer Project

Join the Northwoods Volunteer Connection for a volunteer project in the Superior National Forest.

Join us for a boardwalk project on the historic Centennial Hiking Trail!

About the project: The Centennial Trail was developed to honor the Superior National Forest’s 100th anniversary in 2009. Volunteers will install a boardwalk on a section of the trail near the Kekekabic Trailhead on the Gunflint Trail. The day will begin with volunteers carrying boards from the parking area to the construction site, about 1/2 of a mile.

What to bring: Volunteers should wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt as well as waterproof footwear. Remember to bring plenty of water! Gloves, safety equipment and tools will be provided. Lunch will be provided for those who register ahead of time.
