Wilderness First Aid Class
his course helps you prepare for the unexpected with a fun, hands-on introduction to wilderness medical care.
We love the outdoors here in Cook County! Paddling in the BWCAW. Hiking along the Superior Hiking Trail or the North Country Trail. Camping in the boreal forests. Biking the sawtooth mountains. Fishing our inland lakes and streams. Backcountry skiing and snowshoeing in our frozen wonderland. Yup, it really is an outdoor paradise in the gorgeous remote wilderness of Cook County. Unfortunately, that remoteness can also cause a problem: what do you do if you have an emergency outside of the reach of 911?
That’s why we are offering a Wilderness First Aid class. This course helps you prepare for the unexpected with a fun, hands-on introduction to wilderness medical care. This course is great for people of all ages and experiences, best-suited for those who recreate outdoors where EMS response is expected in a timely manner.
Dates are May 5th & 6th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gunflint Ranger Station, 2020 West Hwy 61. Cost is $250.
