The Cook County Whole Foods Co-op Local Producers Scholarship helps Cook County Farmers establish and improve their farms, buy needed equipment and supplies and helps pay for education on organic farming.Applications for the 2018 Local Producers Scholarship are due February 16, 2018. Applicants must be Cook County residents involved in sustainable food production who are currently selling their produce or other food products through the Cook County Whole Foods Co-op or plan to in the future. Funds can be used as scholarship for training programs or conferences in sustainable food production or for equipment that would be used in food production. If you are interested in applying please drop off, e-mail or send a letter to the Cook County Whole Foods Co-op. Include: 1) Complete contact information; 2) your experience and commitment to sustainable food production; 3) a description of what the funds would be used for and 4) expected benefits of your endeavors for local food production and for delivery of local food supplies to the Co-op.
