Walking in a Winter Wonderland
at Sugarloaf Cove Nature Center
Ahhh late January in Minnesota! It can be lots of things... probably
cold, probably snowy, but definitely beautiful.
Join us at Sugarloaf Cove for a winter exploration under the light of
the moon. We will have a campfire, toast some marshmallows, sip hot
beverages and experience firsthand the beauty of the outdoors. A
torchlight hike to the shore on the Scientific and Natural Area will
be part of the event, so come prepared for a short expedition.
A clear night will provide great views of the moon and winter stars,
but clear night or otherwise there is always a lot happening under
the ice and snow even when the living world seems to be slumbering.
Let's investigate and see what's going on!
Dress for being outside with winter boots and winter layers. There is
also an indoor Nature Center to retreat to if weather is overly
challenging outside.
This program is in partnership with the MN DNR - Scientific and
Natural Areas program. FREE
