Join resident artisan Marybeth Garmoe and learn to make a broom! A useful object to use around your house- making your own broom is a exciting experience. In this class we will start with the raw materials: broom corn, string, and a sapling handle and learn to process them and create our own brooms. The instructor will bring some broom handles along to use, but if you would like to harvest your own sapling to use as a broom handle, feel free to do so. Some hand strength is needed, no experience is necessary. Ages 13 and up are welcome with an adult.
