Stop the Invasives
How to combat terrestrial invasive species effectively
Join us to gain hands-on experience in identifying problematic invasive plants that are present in the Arrowhead region, but haven’t yet become widespread, including common buckthorn, Japanese barberry, Japanese knotweed, and garlic mustard. In the first half of the workshop, we will focus on learning how to identify each species and distinguish it from native lookalikes. In the second half of the workshop, we’ll head outside in search of invasive species, and you will learn how to report infestations using the GLEDN smartphone app. With your help, we can prevent these species from taking over our forests!
