Artist Talk: Elements and Properties of Design with Karina Cutler-Lake
August 5 | 12 pm | Free
Last year, art professor Karina Cutler-Lake taught a foundations design class for the first time in fifteen years. What appeared at first to be a review of basic concepts turned into a spirited rediscovery of how these basic building blocks—dot, line, shape, texture, pattern, color, space, hierarchy, rhythm, and balance—work in tandem to make great work, no matter the medium, era, or skill level. Karina will share the principles that helped her to proudly consider herself a beginner again. This artist talk is free and open to the public.
