Volunteer Portage Repair Project
Northwoods Volunteer Connection
Become a public land steward - volunteer in the Superior National Forest!
Muddy trails are unpleasant to travel on and can also have a negative impact on surrounding natural resources. Volunteers will improve recreation in the Superior National Forest and protect the environment by building a boardwalk that will be used by Boundary Waters visitors for years to come!
The day starts with a paddle across Poplar Lake to the Lizz Lake portage. Volunteers will spend the day working alongside a Forest Service Wilderness Ranger building a boardwalk on a portion of the trail. This project includes a 30 minute canoe ride across the lake and a short, 5-minute hike to the project area.
Meeting Location and Time: Rockwood Lodge and Outfitters @ 8:00 am
Fees: There is a $30 REFUNDABLE registration deposit for all participants. This fee will be returned after project completion OR if cancellation occurs before June 10th.
RSVP: Space is limited! Fill out an interest form here: https://goo.gl/forms/LRZ8nMuNaHjbwsw32
