April 22 - 23 | 2 days | 9 am - 4 pm Bring in your personal reference material about your favorite regional location and work to cultivate a 2-D interpretation based on your experiences with that place. Participants will be guided in developing an approach to the organization of information from the subject into a cohesive visual statement. Carl will discuss composition relative to overall expression contrast/light, edge/cropping, pictorial space and scale/proportion. Weather dependent, the class will also spend some time walking outdoors to practice gathering on-site visual research. Students may use oil (non-toxic) or acrylic media.
