CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER : Bird Banding at Sweetheart’s Bluff with USFS Biologist and Master Bander Dave Grosshuesch
Part of the Northern Landscapes Festival at North House Folk School
Free Family Friendly event!
Have you ever wondered where the saying “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” comes from? If so, please join us for an opportunity to actually see a bird in the hand! Superior National Forest biologists will be offering a banding demonstration to learn about the importance of banding and how this tool can be used to help conserve bird populations (not to mention getting close and personal with birds!). This is a free family friendly program so bring the kids and stop by anytime between 6-10:00am.
Walking maps to the banding site will be available at the North House School store. Remember the other important bit of bird wisdom though…. “the early bird catches the worm”!
