Andreas Klein

Solo piano recital

The New York Times has called German pianist Andreas Klein "a fascinating artist with all the indispensable qualities: temperament, taste, touch, tone, the four T's of pianism… a pianist who makes silences sound like music." Klein has performed in the world's most prestigious venues, including London's Wigmore Hall, Berlin's Philharmonic Hall, New York's Carnegie Hall, and Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center. He is the subject of a PBS special, "Intermezzo with Andreas Klein." On Sat. April 22 at 7:30 pm, Klein will perform a solo concert titled "Unleashing Musical Architecture," featuring the work of Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, and Brahms. On Sun. April 23, at 5:30 pm, Mr. Klein will lead a creative piano workshop with Cook County piano students, open to the public. Both events will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 417 W. 1st Ave., Grand Marais. Concert Tickets: For sale at event only, in lobby of Bethlehem Lutheran Church starting at 6:30 pm night of show. Adults $24; Youth (18 & under) $5. Attending the piano workshop is free.
