Updated Ski Trail ReportSubmitted by cascade@boreal.org on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 9:38am.
New Snowfall: Snowing now Last Grooming Date: 2/15/08 Comment: The entire system is double tracked groomed and skiing well. Many downed trees made for difficult grooming but all is clear now. Although much debris was on trails, we ground most of it into the base and with a bit of fresh snow, today should be ideal. Base Depth: 10-16 Inches

Deeryard ski trail
We did Deeryard this morning and it wasn't very good. I won't do it again until either it snows a bit. . . .or it gets groomed. The first third was actually OK. . . but the second third got way too much sun on SUNday and it was very icy and slippery. The last third was full of debris, as usual. The hill (up and back) was the best part. Only one person and a pack of at least 5 wolves had been on the Short Loop. . . .which was snowy and crusty. . . .hard to snowplow on the hills.
If you just want to ski for an hour, I'd suggest skiing on the trail along the lake until it makes that sharp turn south. Then turn around. You'll avoid most of the bad part this way.
