Soon to be EXCELLENT Skiing Conditions: Currently only fair. Our moderate snowfall on Friday turned out to be a never ending non-stop 2-3 inch dumping per hour completely burying the Pincushion Trails. All of the trails re-groomed by Pisten Bully to break up the ice snow Wednesday and Thursday are now buried under nearly 30 inches of snow! Our grooming grew finally quit at 4:00 am Sunday morning. Grooming is ongoing and we should have 8 -12 km completed re-groomed tonight.

Snow Depth in Woods: 34 - 40 "

New Snow Last 24 Hours: 24 " +

New Snow Last 7 Days: 29 ” +

Groomed for Skating: Presently in process, 10 out of 25 km should be groomed by morning.

Groomed with Classic Tracks: Presently in process, 10 out of 25 km should be groomed by morning.

Surface Conditions: Deep fresh powder snow over a partially groomed snow surface. 15 km was packed Saturday night/Sunday morning, so there was only 10-12 in. of new snow over that. The rest of the Advanced trails had a full 24" + of deep powder snow. My 2 km snowshoe packed trail got lots of use as not many skiers wanted to break trail through all that snow. Later on even the deer were usiing the snowshoe packed trail!

Trail Conditions Rated: Currently barely passable for Classic skiing (fair) and impossable for Skating (poor to non-existaent. Once groomed and the snow sets up the trails will be very good again.

Last Grooming Day: Sunday, January 13th. Grooming is currently underway by Pisten Bully and snowmobile. Snowshoe packing was used throughout the day Sunday.

Total Snow for Season since Nov. 5th, 2007: 66"

Base Depth:

Comment:
The trails are very well compacted, and the classic tracks are in superb condition.  Skating is very good in general.  There are a few spots where we could use a little more snow, but conditions are better than they have been in a couple of years.
