We have re-groomed the Hall/Massey Loops and the connector from the Lutsen Ski hill road to Caribou trail.  The connector loops from Solbakken and from Cascade to Hall/Massey are closed until we get more snow.  The skiing is great on the trails that are open, very enjoyable sunny skiing--quite unusual.  Spring conditions with icing in the morning.

We have groomed the entire system with our Pisten Bully and opened up Whitesides and Deertracks for skiing from Solbakken.  Best skiing will be from Caribou to Lutsen Mountains where we received as much as 12 inches of fresh snow.

Due to the extensive clean up necessary on the DYL system we were unable to get to Hall/Massey this week.  Please be patient as we continue to clear and get the trails opened back up.  Try the Deeryard lake area for the best skiing nearby.  Also, please consider joining Norpine at www.norpinetrails.org to help support our limited staff and resources!

New Snow:      About 2 inches
Groomers Comments: We have groomed the entire system with 1 track classic and one track skating. We also hand-brushed the connectors from Cascade and Lutsen to the Hall-Massie loop sections. These should ski much better now. The Hall-Massie loop was reported to be in excellent condition. Deertracks and trails near Solbakken are in poor shape.

Groomers Comments: We re-groomed the Hall-Massie Loops only. We used our Ginzu groomer which allows us to grind up the snow prior to resetting the tracks. I was quite impressed with the track setting. The Massie Loop will ski slightly better than the hall because it has more snow.
