Vikings Win Big!
The Cook County Vikings traveled the North Shore to take on the young Silver Bay Mariners. The Vikings came out without their patented press but were still able to run the court for easy buckets, leading to a big halftime score. The Vikings moved into a zone in the second half and every bench player saw major minutes as the Vikings scored a 101-22 win over the Mariners. Brea Boomer led all scorers with 23 points, while Ailee Larson chipped in 17. Junior Ashley Deschampe, Bekah Laky, and Molly Zafft (coming off of a shoulder injury) all scored 13. In all, the Vikings had 11 girls score and put in 36 points off their bench. The Vikings win pushes their record to 14-2 and they travel down the shore again on Friday for another Polar League game against Two Harbors.
