The Cook County Vikings improved their record to 18-2 with an 89-30 win on Monday night over the Wrenshall Wrens. The Vikings built a quick 20 point lead but the play got a little ragged after that, with the Vikings throwing sloppy passes and playing lackluster defense. The overall ragged play was put on hold for short spurts of time when the Vikings would burst out for a nice run and add to their lead. The Vikings went into the break with a 50-19 lead and came out in the second half and played more inspired ball with much more intensity. Once again, the bench saw major minutes and played well in their stint. Brea Boomer led all scorers with 26 points, while fellow senior Ailee Larson added 18. Junior Ashley Deschampe was a little under her average, scoring 15 and sophomore Theresa Morrin added 12 points in the win. The next Viking action is the last game of the season on Friday the 25th when they travel Barnum to take on the 21-1 Bombers at 4:45.
