Sons of American Legion donate to Cook County Food Shelf
The American Legion Post 413 Sons of the Legion gave a donation of $700 to the Cook County Food Shelf last fall. However, knowing the need is great this time of year, the Sons decided to make another contribution. Sons’ representative David Johnson presented a check for $500 to food shelf volunteer Gwen Lenz on December 23, 2013.
If you would like to help the Cook County Food Shelf with a a financial contribution, you can do so at the food shelf at the First Congregational Church at Third Avenue and Second Street in Grand Marais. Checks may also be mailed to: Cook County Food Shelf, P.O. Box 95, Grand Marais, MN 55604.
Anyone can also help the food shelf with a donation of non-perishable food at drop-off spots at local grocery stores and at Arrowhead Cooperative in Lutsen.
For more information about receiving food shelf assistance or to volunteer with the Cook County Food Shelf, contact Bill Lenz (218) 387-9860.
