Snow won't stop Mush for a CureSubmitted by star on Fri, 03/12/2010 - 4:52pm
The lack of snow will not stop Mush for a Cure 2010—it is just modified a bit. Friday evening events in the fundraiser which benefits the National Breast Cancer Foundation will be held as planned. Join the festivities at Trail Center--a Pink Pasta Feed starting at 5:00 p.m., a prom, and a fundraising challenge that will result in someone losing his hair at 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, there will not be a mushing run, but there will be a pancake breakfast feed at Gunflint Pines from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30. At 12:00 noon there will be a mass “start” for the mushers with a short run around the Gunflint Pines campground and then anyone who wants to can take part in a “funeral procession” to say goodbye to winter 2010. Decorate your vehicle in pink and head from Gunflint Pines to Trail Center where there will be some fun end-of-winter games—possibly ice kayaking!
At 4:00 p.m., prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories and at 7:00 p.m., “Cook County’s Most Wanted,” Rod ‘n Real will play to wrap up the weekend.
