Silver Bay Peewees
The Silver Bay PeeWee B's have been busy! On Thursday, January 3rd the boys played against Superior, Wi and took a tough loss of 1-2. That following weekend the team travelled to Two Harbors for the Great Lakes Tournament. Bay hit the ice at full speed against Duluth East Red and skated away with a win of 5-1. The second game of the day was against Hayward, Wi. After a long break between games, the team put forth a tough battle but was defeated 3-4. Sunday, after getting some rest, Silver Bay came back and took the 3rd place trophy with a 7-1 victory over Elk River.
On Sunday, January 13th the PeeWee B's travelled further down the road to face off with Moose Lake, who had only lost one game prior. Moose Lake came out with an excellent passing game, but Bay put the first goal on the board and didn't look back. Both teams fought fiercely for the W and Bay took it 5-4.
The Silver Bay PeeWee B's played against their undefeated neighbor last night, Two Harbors. Silver Bay scored early and held the lead at 1-0 the entire game with Two Harbors scoring with 37 seconds on the clock. The boys tied at 1-1 in overtime. The final league game will be played on Saturday at 12:00 in Silver Bay vs. Ashland. The team is coached by Wade LeBlanc and Jody Reineccius.
