The Silver Bay/Cook County Peewees headed to a tournament in Ashland, WI this weekend where their motto is "A kid on the ice is seldom in hot water".

They started off the weekend with a large 12 - 0 win over Superior on Saturday morning.  Later that day they took on the home team from Ashland and gained another shut-out victory with the final being 8 - 0!

Sunday morning found themselves in the championship game against Forest Lake.  This was by far the best game of this season for our peewees.   Our group of 10 skaters and a goalie came out strong and got on top early. At the end of 2nd period of play the score was 3 - 2 and they knew they had to win every shift now to win this one and bring home the 1st place hardware.   It was AWESOME!  You could see moments where they were running out of steam vs. the legs of the Forest Lake team with 8 more skaters then we had but these boys continued to dig deep, work hard and claim that Championship trophy!  The final score was a 4 - 3 victory and boy did they earn it!

Our peewees are having a great season with a current record of 15 - 3 - 1 !   Way to go Peewee boys!!
