Mayoral and council races add candidates

Filing for city and school offices opened August 26. Two council positions and the Mayor's office are open for filing and three school board positions are open in districts 1, 2 and 4. Sue Hakes has filed for Grand Marais Mayor, as has incumbent Mayor Evelyn Larsen. Tim Kennedy has filed for re-election to the council, as has incumbent Ed Bolstad. Former Mayor and county commissioner Walt Mianowski has filed for city council. Leonard Sobanja has filed for re-election to the District 4 school board, he is being challenged by Diane Stoddard.
