Grand Portage Head Start Director/Disability Coordinator
Responsible for planning, directing and administering the Head Start Program. Must organize and monitor program operations, function activities, services, and staff. Conduct self-evaluation and ongoing community relations, activities, policies and enrollment procedures, and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
Must have a BA or BS degree in Early Childhood development or Elementary education with six months to one year related experience and/or training. Experience with securing and individualizing needed services for children with disabilities. Written and oral communication skills are essential. Supervisor experience and interpersonal skills is an asset. Ability to manage budgets and draft grant proposals, are desired. Knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of preschool child development programs, prefer experience with in Head Start. Must be able to keep all information strictly confidential. Must have an annual physical exam including a TB test, within the last year and be able to provide documentation verifying exam and TB test or obtain physical exam and TB test within 30 days of hire. Must have current Red Cross First Aid and CPR training or complete training within 90 days of hire and keep training current thereafter.
