Grand Portage Domestic Violence Advocate
Responsibility for and direction of advocacy for victims of domestic violence. Work in concert with other staff and advocate volunteers and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of available resources, cultural diversity, native culture and traditional values. Must be aware of specific services related to battered partners and legal process. Must be comfortable working with the justice system and be able to provide community education and lead groups. Be able to develop the appropriate proposals and adhere to the provisions of the grants, including timely of activities reports, evaluation and budget preparation.

Must clear background investigation for minimum standards of Character & Suitability for employment under the Indian Child Protection & Family Violence Prevention Act of 1990, Pub 101-630.
