Chemical Dependency Counselor
Grand Portage Chemical Dependency Counselor
Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems, such as alcohol or drug abuse, and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
BA or BS degree in counseling, psychology or a closely related field from an accredited four year college or university; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of Chemical Dependency Consolidated Treatment fund and Rule 25 criteria for inpatient treatment. Must be certified as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, 30 hours of state accredited Rule 25 assessment training. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable with Grand Portage Reservation auto insurance. Must be chemically free for minimum of three years and remain chemically free while employed. Must be able to keep all information strictly confidential.

Must clear background investigation for minimum standards of Character & Suitability for employment under the Indian Child Protection & Family Violence Prevention Act of 1990, Pub 101-630.
