Community Center Custodial Engineer

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the physical building including but not limited to boilers, air handling equipment, and other mechanical equipment, minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance and housekeeping activities as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree; or two or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a workable knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical, cleaning supplies and equipment. Must obtain certified Pool Operator and Class C boiler license. Valid driver’s license and to be insurable with Grand Portage Reservation auto insurance, is an asset

Carpenters- Help Wanted

Experienced quality-oriented carpenters needed at Isak Hansen's to help us grow.  Minimum 3 years experience framing, interior trim, siding, roofing.  Custom home construction or remodeling experience necessary.  Willing to learn, and be a team player. 

Pay range $17-22 per hour depending on qualifications and team lead experience, plus benefits.  Health insurance, 401k with employer match, vacation, holidays, and great discount.  Full time Mon-Fri or 4-10s possible.

Site Work Laborer $10-15 per hour + benefits

Hardware Store Sales $10-12 hr plus benefits

Isak Hansen's True Value Home Center in Lutsen is looking for customer-driven salesperson to work in our store.  Top customer skills needed.  Good understanding of building industry and computer skills a plus.  Full time or part time.  Full time will get 2 days in a row off scheduled.  Must be able to work a Saturday or Sunday shift.  Pay range $10-12 hr, plus health insurance, paid vacation, 401k, some holidays, and great discount.  If you've worked in retail lumber/hardware and have more than 2 years experience, pay range can be reviewed.

Financial Accounting Clerk

Responsible for financial accounting for RTC Operations and the Enterprise, which include payroll processing, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Casino Auditing and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s). Position may include weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS: Accounting Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from college or technical school, one year of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Excel is essential. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Proficiency in the use of word processing, database and spreadsheet software applications.

Head Start Director/Disability Coordinator

Grand Portage Head Start Director/Disability Coordinator

Responsible for planning, directing and administering the Head Start Program. Must organize and monitor program operations, function activities, services, and staff. Conduct self-evaluation and ongoing community relations, activities, policies and enrollment procedures, and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Must have a BA or BS degree in Early Childhood development or Elementary education with six months to one year related experience and/or training. Experience with  securing and individualizing needed services for children with disabilities. Written and oral communication skills are essential. Supervisor experience and interpersonal skills is an asset. Ability to manage budgets and draft grant proposals, are desired. Knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of preschool child development programs, prefer experience with in Head Start. Must be able to keep all information strictly confidential. Must have an annual physical exam including a TB test, within the last year and be able to provide documentation verifying exam and TB test or obtain physical exam and TB test within 30 days of hire. Must have current Red Cross First Aid and CPR training or complete training within 90 days of hire and keep training current thereafter.
