Oshki Ogimaag Charter School is looking for a teacher for grades 4-6.
The teacher is responsible for providing an educational environment where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth. The teacher is responsible to organize and implement an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with the school mission and goals, and align with MN state standards.
Teacher will work in conjunction with special education teachers in order to ensure curricula is appropriate and modifications are complied with for special education students.
Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents and other professionals on a regular basis.
Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process
Demonstrates gains in student performance.
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating and participating in special events.
Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
A valid MN teacher License required.
Knowledge of Ojibwe Culture and communities helpful and preferred.

POSITION: Full-time Elementary Special Education Teacher (Certified early childhood teachers also encouraged to apply).
o Active or willingness to obtain and Elementary Special Education License.
o Successful educational experience with elementary aged children a must.

o Experience with Native American students preferred.
o Experience with students from low-income families preferred.
