COOK COUNTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
TITLE: MAINTENANCE WORKER II
FUNCTION: Maintains and constructs county roads by operating various pieces of medium equipment, primarily tandem dump truck, under the direction of the Cook County Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor.
DUTIES: Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Plows snow and sands roadways using a tandem axle truck equipped with front plow, wing, sander, and/or underbody blade. Thaws frozen culverts. Hauls gravel. Prepares salt-sand mix. Patches holes in bituminous. Makes corrections to road subgrades. Performs cracksealing procedures. Installs culverts. Cleans ditches and culvert ends. Performs road shouldering operations. Installs traffic control devices. Maintains assigned equipment, as well as shop and work areas. Assists mechanic as directed. Works out-of-class operating heavy equipment, if assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.

North Shore Visitation Center is an independently operated 501c3 serving Cook and Lake County and Grand Portage Community.NSVC is 6 years old and operates on County funding and private foundation grants.
Part-time position to begin August 15th, 2014. Approximately 9 hours per week (work hours may vary) at $20/hour. Work location at visitation/exchange sites in Cook and Lake Counties and home office for administrative duties. Grant funded position.
Job Description: Visitation and Exchange Coordinator
Assist with ongoing development of program standards, practices and public awareness programming
Coordinate schedules and responsibilities with other facilitators
Research grant opportunities
Write grants/secure funding for on-going programming
Oversee annual budgets
Train and supervise staff
Coordinate and attend monthly board meetings
Write organization’s newsletter
Communicate with families, courts, and interested parties
B.A. or equivalent experience in human service, education, policy development, administration.
Experience researching and applying for grants
Experience with program development
Proven record of managing mutliple sources of funding
Good interpersonal communication skills

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the physical building including but not limited to boilers, air handling equipment, and other mechanical equipment, minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance and housekeeping activities as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree; or two or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a workable knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical, cleaning supplies and equipment. Must obtain certified Pool Operator and Class C boiler license. Valid driver’s license and to be insurable with Grand Portage Reservation auto insurance, is an asset
