Grand Portage Chemical Dependency Counselor

Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems, such as alcohol or drug abuse, and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

BA or BS degree in counseling, psychology or a closely related field from an accredited four year college or university; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of Chemical Dependency Consolidated Treatment fund and Rule 25 criteria for inpatient treatment. Must be certified as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, 30 hours of state accredited Rule 25 assessment training. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable with Grand Portage Reservation auto insurance. Must be chemically free for minimum of three years and remain chemically free while employed. Must be able to keep all information strictly confidential.

Grand Portage Head Start Director/Disability Coordinator

Responsible for planning, directing and administering the Head Start Program. Must organize and monitor program operations, function activities, services, and staff. Conduct self-evaluation and ongoing community relations, activities, policies and enrollment procedures, and any other job related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Must have BA or BS degree in Early Childhood development or Elementary education with six months to one year related experience and/or training. Experience with securing and individualizing needed services for children with disabilities. Written and oral communication skills are essential. Supervisor experience and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to manage budgets and grant proposals, are desired. Knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of preschool child development programs, prefer experience with in head Start. Must be able to keep all information strictly confidential. Must have an annual physical exam including a TB test, within the last year and be able to obtain physical exam and TB test within 30 days of hire. Must have current Red Cross First Aid and CPR training or complete training within 90 days of hire and keep training current thereafter.

Job Responsibilities:
-- Aggressively solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals.

-- Utilize prospecting, telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication to gain new and existing accounts.

-- Preparation and presentation of business proposals, presentations and contracts which meet clients' needs and expectations and provide alternatives.

-- Conduct personalized sales campaigns to promote the resorts, programs, packages and special promotions.

Opening at The Shirt Outfitters

The Shirt Outfitters in Grand Marais, specializing in localized screenprinted & embroidered garments, is looking to hire a seasonal full time staff member starting May 15th thru mid Oct. On-Site Caretaker Position

Sawtooth Ridges Apartments is a low-income housing opportunity for adults aged 62 and over.  Sawtooth Ridges has served the Cook County community with independent living apartments for 20 years.

 

Currently Sawtooth Ridges Apartments is accepting applications for an on-site caretaker.  

This position is open for all applicants; single applicants as well as family applicants will be considered.

 

Duties include, but are not necessarily limited to:

-Being on-call from 9pm to 8am on a daily basis to respond to emergencies.

-Groundskeeping duties--Mowing lawn, shoveling snow, raking leaves, etc.

-Housekeeping duties--Cleaning and maintenance of common areas, reporting problems to manager, light maintenance duties.

-Being a helpful resource to our residents.

*Total weekly work hours (not including overnight on-call time) is approximately 15 hours.

 

Compensation for the caretaker will include:

-A two bedroom, one bath apartment on site including utilities.
