Cook County is located in the northeast corner of Minnesota in the Superior National Forest, along the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior. Our close-knit staff is full of exceptional people providing excellent educational services to a diverse student body. In 2011, we launched a Data-driven Differentiated Instruction initiative aimed at closing the achievement gap. This was followed by the implementation of an excellent Q-Comp plan which provides a significant amount of new teacher support. We are currently looking for a motivated elementary educator who believes all children can achieve targeted growth goals regardless of race or economic status. This position is full-time beginning January 6, 2014 through the end of the school year. Potential for employment in 2014-15 also exists.
Long Term Substitute January 6, 2014 through remainder of year
o Minnesota Kindergarten teaching license
o Multiple areas of licensure preferred.
o Experience with Native American students preferred.
o Experience with students from low-income families preferred.
o Demonstrated successful experience as classroom teacher.
o Sensitivity to family strengths and individual parenting styles.
o Experience with AIMSWEB and MAP testing preferred.
o Understanding and demonstrated success in development and implementation of differentiated instruction.

Receptionist position at Cascade Lodge 1 day per week working 8-3 on Tuesdays with additional shifts available from time to time during other peoples vacation time or sick days. Must be excellent with people, able to type and use basic computer skills as well as have excellent phone skills. Additional hours available for anyone who is willing to housekeeping duties.
This is a seasonal position that will end in May.

The Cook County Community Center is looking for some broomball and hockey coordinators for evening play at the outdoor ice rink.
Youth broomball - 5- 7 p.m. on Sundays
Adult boot hockey - 7 - 9 p.m. on Tuesdays
Adult pick-up hockey - 7 - 9 p.m. on Wednesdays
