Saute Cook - Lutsen Resort

Lutsen Resort on Lake Superior is looking for an experienced full-time, year-round line cook for our sauté station. Culinary school graduate or similar experience preferred but will train promising applicant with limited experience. Menu composed of fresh seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on scratch cooking.  Must be able to understand recipes, cooking techniques, and instructions to prepare all menu items to Resort standards. Responsible to insure that proper health and safety practices are followed. To be successful, candidate should have a strong sense of cleanliness and timeliness. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. A great atmosphere for those wanting to take their culinary skills to a higher level.

  • At least one year of post-secondary education, but two years in a hospitality major preferred.

Lutsen Resort has a full time, year-round laundry position available. The primary function of this position is to make sure all of the housekeeping and dining room laundry is cleaned in a timely manner. The laundry staff is accountable for effective and efficient use of laundry chemicals and machinery, maintaining laundry cleanliness standards, and monitoring laundry needs. Duties include doing laundry for resort and restaurant, shared between multiple laundry locations. Should be able to prioritize, work independently and enjoy variety in their day. Cook County job opening: Waste Management Site Attendant-Tofte site

                                  COOK COUNTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY


FUNCTION:   Under the direction of the Cook County Planning Director/Solid Waste Officer, serves as attendant at the county-operated transfer station waste disposal site in Tofte, Minnesota

DUTIES:   Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following:  Opens and closes the waste disposal site.  Assists and directs the public disposing of materials.  Removes improperly placed materials.  Estimates volume of waste and corresponding fees to charge.  Collects money, makes change, issues receipts, and maintains records.  Picks up litter. Shovels snow.  Operates and maintains the site in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.  Performs other miscellaneous tasks at the direction of the Planning Director/Solid Waste Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Math knowledge to estimate volume, compute fees, handle money, and keep basic records.  Ability to work outside year-round.  Ability to perform moderately strenuous work to include lifting, carrying, and shoveling.  Ability to work with the public.  Knowledge of solid waste issues is preferred. 

STATUS OF POSITION:  Cook County currently a  part-time position working 12 hours per week, year-round, on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, plus an additional 6 hours on Thursday mornings in the summer.   Salary range: $13.838 (Step 1) through $16.710 (Step 15) per hour.  Position provides limited part-time benefits to include pro-rated Paid Leave and Holiday pay; FICA (Social Security/Medicare); and retirement plan contributions.

FUNCTION:  Serves as a professional Social Worker in the Cook County Public Health and Human Services Department. 

DUTIES:  Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following:  Performs professional Social Worker duties in assigned program areas. Provides case management for assigned case load.  Assesses areas of service need and writes individual service plans.  Authorizes, coordinates, and monitors services and providers.  Counsels with families and individuals. Writes reports, letters, memos, and case notes.  Maintains records.  Attends meetings, seminars, and classes.  Provides emergency night and weekend “on call” services to all populations when assigned.  Performs other related Social Worker duties.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:   Requires a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in any field plus one year of experience as a Social Worker. Serves as the intake social worker and provides professional child welfare case management. 

STATUS OF DUTIES: This is a regular, full-time position working 40 hours per week, plus occasional weekend and holiday “on call” duties as assigned.  Salary range:  $22.081 (step 1) through $27.622 (step 15), plus full-time county benefits including health insurance, retirement benefits, and Paid Leave.
