Cook County YMCA Aquatic Supervisor




The aquatic supervisor will oversee all aquatic staff including lifeguards and swim instructors.  The will also oversee creating staff schedules and training, maintaining supply inventory and special events.


Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
Ensures records of staff certifications, drills, and skills are up to date. (pool chemicals)
Secures staff for special events
Conducts lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR trainings.
Develops and conducts in-service trainings.
Ensure safe conditions of the pool facilities and equipment. Conduct monthly safety inspections and re-stock first aid supplies and other aquatic equipment.
Maintain safety procedures and update manuals as needed.
Research, train in, and use current best practices for aquatic safety and assessment.
Assist leadership team with Staff on Duty shifts which includes weekends.
Responsible for staff and shift coverage in aquatic area.
Completes Certified Pool and Spa Operator course in the first 3 months of employment.  Assists with inspection and maintenance of pool operating systems.


Has at least one year of experience as a lifeguard.
Minimum age of 21
Maintain current certifications as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and/or YMCA Aquatics Management certification.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Care Partners of Cook County is hiring a Senior Rides Coordinator.  This person would work with our volunteer drivers to arrange rides for local seniors. The position includes program management and volunteer recruitment & coordination.  Candidates must have excellent abilities in working with people; have demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; and be proficient with computers. Experience working with volunteers and seniors is a plus. Candidates must also have an excellent driving record and be able to provide transportation occasionally. The position is 20 hours per week.

Responding to all incoming phone inquiries to:

Respond effectively to potential guests so as to make all room reservations for the Main Lodge, the Sea Villas, the Poplar River Condos, and the Log Cabins for all users including paying guests, owners, guests of owners, and others as appropriate.
Redirect calls to other administrative staff, employees or guests.
Respond, as appropriate, to other incoming calls.

Dealing effectively with all other guest interactions, directly and by phone, including but not limited to purchases, requests for assistance especially coordinating room related requests on behalf of Lutsen’s guests with other department managers.  Also, providing information and assistance to guests regarding area activities and recreation.
Checking-in and checking-out all guests.
Tracking totals for all reservations made by date and location and graphing monthly totals compared to budgeted goals.
Ensuring that all areas of assigned properties are properly cleaned and stocked in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Coordinating with Maintenance Department and Quality Control personnel to ensure that assigned properties and all related physical assets are maintained to a level consistent with guests’ expectations and Lutsen Resort’s standards.

North Shore Health has a full time Lab Tech position available (72-80 hours per pay period).

Generalist duties:  testing in all areas of the laboratory, including Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Transfusion Medicine.  You will be performing Phlebotomist/Lab Aide duties as well.

Applicants must be available to work a flexible, non-routine schedule, including a rotating schedule of being on-call 24/7, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Applicants must be professional, responsible, reliable, self-motivated, able to work both independently and as a team, have excellent communication skills, and are prepared to demonstrate excellence, integrity, communication, and quality throughout all aspects of their job functions.

To qualify for an interview:  applicants must possess a current ASCP certification as an MLS or MLT, have a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, and have the minimum required clinical laboratory experience for the position.

Preferred Clinical Laboratory experience:  four years experience as a Generalist and two years experience in both Microbiology and Transfusion Medicine.

Minimum Clinical Laboratory experience:  one year experience as a Generalist.
