Director Job Description

The Director will provide the educational leadership to Oshki Ogimaag Community School.  Responsibilities include: building the organization, driving membership, uniting the community, advocating on behalf of the school, program development, strategic planning, operations maintenance, academics, marketing, fundraising, and setting expectations and effectively delivering the results for academic achievement, climate safety, budget efficiency and employee/student performance.  By providing leadership in curriculum and instruction, school improvement, supervision, community involvement and administration, the Oshki Ogimaag School Director will pursue the vision and execute the mission of an innovative elementary charter school.

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

*Regularly communicate with, reports to, develops recommendations for and seeks input from the Board of Directors and/or appropriate committees regarding the governance of OOCS, school activities and other relevant matters.

*Prepare for the Board’s approval an annual set of goals for the school.

*Define, articulate and promote the school’s mission and vision in all aspects of curriculum and instruction.

*Provide leadership in the ongoing development, involvement and evaluation of curriculum, instruction and student data management.

*Act as a role model for expected faculty behavior by demonstrating leadership, management and instructional skills.

An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, or
Two years of post-secondary coursework totaling 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable towards a bachelor’s degree, or
Passing score of 460 (or higher) on the ParaPro Assessment AND either a high school diploma or GED certificate.
