On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, the fourth annual Tea at the Naniboujou Lodge will be sponsored by Cook County Higher Education. Each Tea has featured Dr. Karen I. Halbersleben leading attendees through an exploration of interesting aspects of English Royal history since the Norman Conquest of 1066.
If you missed any of Karen's three previous speeches and would like to hear what you missed, or if you enjoyed any of the speeches so much that you'd like to hear it again, here is your chance! Karen will reprise one speech every month this summer, leading up to this year's Tea on September 7th.
July 9th: “God Save the Queens” examines the fascinating stories of the six women who have ruled England in their own right: the two Elizabeths, the two Marys, Anne, and Victoria. 6:30pm July 9th at Cook County Higher Education!
The presentations lasts approximately 40 minutes and will be followed by Q and A.
Donations of $10 are appreciated. These funds will go to support the work of Cook County Higher Education. You can pay online or pay at the door.

Open mic is happening every Monday at Grandma Ray's in downtown Grand Marais! We're already getting a few regulars, and every week delivers a new, great surprise! Last week we had the debut public performance of a new local band as "Frequency Rising" came down for a preview of their first gig!
We've had some great performances, and some fun jams among people who otherwise probably wouldn't have a chance to get together. We've also had a few trainwrecks, but hey, that's live music! You never know what's going to happen, but that's a big part of the fun!
The stage opens at 6:00 PM, and last week we kept going until closing! Bring your instrument(s), your voice, or just your love of live music and enjoy the 100% impromptu show! Full PA support is provided by the Grand Marais Music Collaborative, so all you have to do is plug in & play!
Grand Marais Music Collaborative is a Minnesota not-for-profit corporation, federally tax-exempt as a public charity under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) to provide services in support of music and musicians in and around the Grand Marais, MN area.
