"It is important for small businesses that employ people with mental illness to provide the appropriate support to these employees. Employers who have strategies in place are in a better position to support their employees during episodes of mental illness.

Small business should be aware of first aid techniques to assist people suffering from mental health episodes whilst on the business' premises. It is also useful for businesses to know what services for mental illness exist in their local area."

Interest Meeting! All are welcome and encouraged to attend!

The Grand Marais Playhouse will hold a meeting for people interested in participating in the Grand Marais Summer Theater Festival. The meeting will be held January 22 at 7 PM at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts! All community members welcome! Come find out more!
Interested in participating in the Summer Theater Festival? Each year the Playhouse produces two shows (typically a comedy and a musical) that run in repertory on weekends from the middle of July to the middle of August. Actors and crew get a stipend of $400. This year rehearsals will begin in the winter at a casual pace and pick up steam as summer approaches but allows for more time off than if they began in the regular 5 week rehearsal scenario. Two shows under consideration for this summer are "I love you, Your Perfect, now change!" ( and "Moon Over Buffalo" ( Attendance at interest meeting will help determine show choice. These are only possibilities at the moment! Can we cast them? Will you commit in January to make these shows happen? Come find out more, share your voice, sign up to be part of the magic! For more information contact the Playhouse at or (218)387-1284 x 2.
