Fan Bus for State-Bound Vikings!!

The Cook County Lady Vikings are playing in the state volleyball tournament at 1:00 pm on Thursday!

Thank you Grand Portage Tribal Council for offering to pay for coach bus transportation for the team and fans!!!  

There will be two coach fan buses going each day (down and back) to the XCEL Center!  There is no cost for the fan bus however, fans will be responsible for their tournament ticket (Adult Single Session $14; Student Single Session $9) and food. There is room for 88 people.  Children PK-Grade 8 must be accompanied by a parent.  Time and location of departure will be posted later this week. There  Please call 387-2271 ext. 602 to sign up.

Adult Hockey and Youth & Adult Broomball Rink Coordinators

Do you like to play adult hockey or broomball?  Are you willing to be the coordinator for play this winter at the CC Community Center hockey rink?

Adult hockey is Wednesday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m.

Adult & youth broomball is Sunday evenings from 5- 7 p.m.

Empty Bowls is this Thursday, November 12!

St. John's Catholic Church, Grand Marais - 5th Ave and Broadway

Lunch: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Dinner: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Silent Auction closes at 6:30 p.m. 

Soup Meal: $5

Handcrafted bowl or bowl pendant: $10 

Empty Bowls 2015 features a simple soup dinner with soup and bread provided by local restaurants and a beautiful array of handcrafted bowls made at the Grand Marais Art Colony by community members and potters. A silent auction offers a large selection of gift certificates perfect for holiday, wedding or birthday gifts. The bake sale provides sweet treats to enjoy at the event or take home.  

If you can't make Thursday's event (maybe you're headed south for volleyball?!), take a moment to donate online to Empty Bowls' efforts: Your donation will be split 50% with the Cook County Food Shelf and 50% with other Cook County hunger programs to help battle hunger in our community in the coming year.

Story Time at the Library!

Today is Story Time at the Library with Patsy. Parents with children ages 0-8 are invited to come and listen to a story by Patsy at 1:30-2:30. If you have questions about the Library (on how to use books/computers/etc) You can ask her after the story. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite toy to story time to "Show and Tell" after the story is done.
