Add color and light to your holiday season with your own glass holiday ornaments. Nancy will guide students to experiment with colored glass, frit, and kiln-carving to create multiple ornaments. Yvonne Caruthers Artist Talk Friday, November 13

The Art of Practice: The Practice of Art with Yvonne Caruthers
Friday, November 13 | 7pm

Grand Marais Art Colony Founders Hall

Practicing is second nature to cellist Yvonne Caruthers, who moved to Grand Marais in Feb 2015. From 1978 – 2014 Yvonne was a member of the National Symphony Orchestra, performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC under music directors Mstislav Rostropovich, Leonard Slatkin, and Christoph Eschenbach. During her years in Washington, she also lectured widely on musical topics, and taught dozens of aspiring musicians, with a focus on teaching them how to practice as well as what to practice.  During her artist talk Yvonne will perform several musical examples, using them to illustrate “The Art of Practice: the Practice of Art.”

This event is co-sponsored with the North Shore Music Association and there is a $10 suggested donation.
