The Y would like to send out a big THANK YOU to all the participants, volunteers and sponsors that made the Ham Run a great success! Not all of our numbers are in yet, but we are excited to say we expect to meet our goal of $10,000 raised for the Community Support Campaign! This makes a tremendous difference in our community by allowing us to give back through direct financial assistance and ensures that no one will be turned away from the Y due to inability to pay.
Registration fees are only a part of what made this event successful. We couldn’t have done it without the support from: Gunflint Lodge, Gunflint Pines, Voyageur Canoe Outfitters, Big Bear Lodge and Cabins, Gunflint Fire Department, Boundary Waters Amateur Radio Club, MN Power Taconite Harbor, Lake Superior Trading Post, Grand Marais State Bank, Great River Energy, Northern Wilds, Como Oil, Bernick’s, Advantage Emblem, Stone Harbor, Whole Foods Co-Op, ISD 166, Steve Deschene (Timing), G&G Septic, Johnson’s Foods, Gene’s IGA, Dairy Queen, Voyageur Brewing Company,
We want to especially acknowledge Bob Baker and the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department, Jayne Johnson and the Boundary Waters Amateur Radio Club, and Mike Prom with Voyageur Canoe Outfitters for their commitment to a safe and fun atmosphere for not only the runners, but volunteers and spectators as well. This race could not have run as smoothly as it did without them!
Great job to all the Aid Station volunteers along the run and Finish Line volunteers! Your enthusiasm and encouragement kept the runners going during those long uphill climbs.
Congratulations to Jay Arrowsmith-Decoux and Megan Behrends for winning the Ham Run Half Marathon and Jonathan Rova and Casey Fitchett for winning the Ham Run 5k in the Male/Female categories.

_ How about a Spring tooth Harrow in your garden?
_Then, there are always lawn tables, chairs, margarita glasses...
Come and see our Better-than-Florida display!
There is something for everyone at ODDZ & ENDZ...
We will be closed Friday May 13th...but open today and Saturday 10 - 4.

Cook County Whole Foods Co-op call for submissions...
Are you a writer? A poet? An artist?
We're doing something special for our July-September issue of the Blueberry Jam! Submit your writing (300 words or less), poem, or artwork (we only print in black and white, so keep that in mind) by June 10, 2016. There may be prizes involved for the top three submissions, so stay tuned.
Celebrating our 40th year means celebrating you: all our owners! We literally wouldn't exist without you! Thanks for all you do.
Email your work to email@example.com or bring it to the Co-op in person.
Disclaimer: we may not be able to put everything submitted into the issue, and we reserve the right to do any editing we deem necessary. If you submit something and would like to review changes made, if any, please make a note on your submitted work and try to get it in early! We'd prefer if topics didn't include politics or religion, but other than that, sky is the limit, especially if it's related to food, community, or the North Shore!
