Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca @ ACA June 11

If there's one concert you don't want to miss this season, it may well be L.A.’s  Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca, a band whose music the Los Angeles Times calls "seamless and infectious" and the New York Post "celestial." The Boston Globe says their unique sound is "one of the most potent musical marriages imaginable, the Cuban son with the African soukous."

Thanks to generous support from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council and the Global Awareness Fund of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, the North Shore Music Association is thrilled to present:

Arrowhead Center for the Arts, 51 W. 5th St. Grand Marais

June 11 - 7:30 PM

Tickets: General admission. $20 adults, $5 youth (18 & under). For sale in advance (no fees) at  (search "Arrowhead Center for the Arts") and at door.

More about Ricardo:

Ricardo Lemvo is a celebrated pioneer of innovative music that blends Afro-Cuban rhythms with pan-African styles (soukous, Angolan semba and kizomba).Congo-born of Angolan ancestry, Lemvo is the embodiment of the Afro-Latin Diaspora, which connects back to Mother Africa via the Cuban clave rhythm. Since forming his Los Angeles-based band Makina Loca in 1990, Lemvo has performed countless shows with them throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Australia.

There will be room to DANCE!!!

Walk down memory lane at Oddz&Endz

Remember being able to relax, read a book and dry your hair at the same time?  You can do it again with the not quite up to date hair dryer that will bring back good memories....or not.

How about a large oak buffet with the small attached mirror...just like my Mom had.  Okay, you never saw my Mom's, but I bet you saw one like this.  A great place to store dishes and all of those crocheted table cloths that Mom made.

Back to the hair dryer.... remember the curlers?  Yupper, we have some of them, too!!!  How can you go wrong?

Plus... we have a great amoire...well, it isn't really an amoire, it is an entertainment center...but it could be an amoire with a little bit of ingenuity.  Perfect for a cabin without a closet.... or a castle.

Don't forget we have coffee....not egg coffee like the old days...but it is still good, hot and perfect for browsing on a rainy day.

Monday's 11-6; Tuesdays, Friday's, Saturdays 10-4.

PS We are still looking for a used lawn mower to pretty up our exterior.... a goat would work, but none of the staff wants to take her home at night.  If you have one (mower...not goat) that you would like to donate give us a call. 370-0615.  Thanks
