They defeated Remer 14 - 1 in 5 innings. Congratulations to junior Sarissa Falk on her homerun hit in the 4th inning. This team heads to Southridge tomorrow for the 2nd round of playoff action. Good Luck Viking Softball!!!

Sjogren's big day not enough, Cook County blown out 8-2 by Mesabi East

Mike Sjogren did his best to will Cook County to a win with a three-hit game, but Cook County dropped a 8-2 contest to Mesabi East on Friday at Arleigh Jorgenson Field.

Sjogren handled Mesabi East's lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Sjogren allowed seven earned runs, 11 hits and two walks over seven innings.

Suslavich got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out eight, walked one and surrendered 10 hits.

Mesabi East was sparked by Rowbottom and Mount, who teamed up for six hits and five RBIs.

The game's last lead went to Mesabi East thanks to a first inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on a two-run double by Rowbottom.

Softball Girls Dominate NorthEast Range and close out the week on a high note!

Cook County offense too much for Northeast Range in 15-3 rout

Cook County refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Northeast Range, recording a 15-3 victory on Saturday at Arleigh Jorgenson Field.

With 11 runs in the first three innings, Cook County left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run double by Joe Borud, a groundout by Gunnar Anderson, a wild pitch, and an error during the first inning and an RBI single by Dylan Quaife in the second inning helped Cook County put some runs on the board early.

Quaife racked up three RBIs on four hits for Cook County.

Mike Sjogren got the win for Cook County. He allowed three runs over five innings. Sjogren struck out six, walked one and gave up six hits.

Sjogren and Quaife help Cook County down Floodwood 7-5.

Cook County got the win thanks in large part to Dylan Quaife's dominant, 11-strikeout performance. Quaife allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks over seven innings.

Mike Sjogren collected three hits as Cook County took home a 7-5 victory over Floodwood in seven innings at Arleigh Jorgenson Field on Friday. He singled in the third and fourth innings and tripled in the sixth inning.

In the top of the first, Floodwood grabbed the early lead, 2-0. Riley Bernsdorf started the rally for Floodwood with a single. An error then moved Bernsdorf from first to second. Ross Schminski singled, bringing home Bernsdorf and Trevor Bernsdorf.

Floodwood posted one run in each of the second, third and fourth. In the second, Floodwood scored on an RBI single by Bernsdorf, scoring Tanner Heggedahl.
