Lois Zimmerman passed away on March 12th in McAllen, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 5th at 11:00 A.M. at Cavallin Funeral Home.

A Memorial service will be held for Jan Updyke is 10:30 am Saturday, July 23rd at St. John's Catholic Church, Grand Marais. Lunch will follow.

There will be a celebration of the life and ministry of Reverend Paul M. Youngdahl this Sunday July, 3rd. 1:00pm at the Linner Chapel at Cathedral of the Pines Camp. 760 Caribou Trail, Lutsen.

A memorial service for Charles J. Futterer will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at St. John's Catholic Church in Grand Marais.  Services will commence at 11:00 am in the Church followed by a luncheon downstairs at about noon.  Charlie passed away on February 25, 2011 at his winter residence in Russellville, Arkansas.

A memorial fund has been established for the family of Josh Jorgenson.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church Quilters are hosting a luncheon on Sunday 3/13 from 11:00 AM till 12:55 PM at the Church Social Room, serving sloppy joe's and all the fixens!  Free will offering. 

Marion Corrine Buckman, 91, of Schroeder died Tuesday March 1, 2011, in the North Shore Care Center in Grand Marais.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sylvester "Buck"; daughter Carole; brother Robert; sister Grace; and granddaughter Brenda.

She is survived by her sons Robert (Rhonda), Larry (Cheryl), and Mark (Kathy), all of  Schroeder; Son-in-law Andrew Byholm of Grand Marais, 9 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Zoar Luthern Church in Tofte on March 12th at 11:00am.

Charles J. Futterer, 88, Grand Marais, died peacefully Friday, February 25, 2011 at his winter residence in Russellville, Arkansas,  He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Gerri) of Grand Marais, sister Charlotte Costello of Winimac, Indiana, daughter Karen (Mike Swindlehurst) Futterer of Grand Marais, sons Charles (Susan) of Grand Marais & Virginia, Bruce (Sherrye) of Russellville, Arkansas and Craig (Terri Simard) of Minneapolis.  Chuck and Gerri have ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with one more due any day.  A celebration of Chuck's life will be held in Grand Marais at St. John's Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.


Memorial for Joe Kelahan on Saturday January 22,2011 at 1PM at the Senior Center at 10 Broadway in Grand Marais.

There will also be a benefit dinner for the Kelahan family at the American Legion that evening from 5-8 PM. Cost is $6 for Adults and $3.50 for 12 and under.
