The Grand Marais Public Library is pleased to sponsor a free course on tarot cards from local reader Aliya Marxen, on Wednesday, May 15, at 5 PM.

Have you ever wanted to explore the art of tarot, but didn’t know where to begin? This compact course is for you! Called “Blithe Offerings: An Intro to Tarot,” this class will be helpful either to those who know a little or to those who know a lot about tarot.

Marxen will be providing an approachable guide to the Major and Minor Arcana as well as insights into the process of reading. Attendees may bring their own tarot card deck or borrow one that will be on hand during the lesson.

Aliya Marxen lives on the north shore of Lake Superior with her two cats, Coven and Cricket. She is a lifelong tarot reader with over a decade of professional reading experience, including recently publishing her first book, A Blithe Guide to Tarot, under her pen name Blithe AuClair. When not reading tarot, she enjoys cooking, eating, and living voraciously.

This event is free and open to the public. Non-alcoholic beverages with lids are welcome.

In other events, the library is hosting a presentation from Let’s Plant Trees, on May 17, from 5-6 PM. For more information, call the library at 218-387-1140 or check out our website: grandmaraislibrary.org
