Near-critical fire weather conditions are expected for much of northeast Minnesota today as relative humidity drops to 25% or less and fuels remain dry. One exception is southern Cook County near Lake Superior, which will retain a slightly higher relative humidity in the 30s-40s.

Cook County is under 'moderate' fire danger, meaning fires can start and spread easily. Variance Burning Permits only. If you are in an area with low relative humidity today, it is recommended to avoid outdoor burning. Also, make sure to report any wildfires to local authorities.
