After a beautiful sunny weekend, clouds and much-needed precipitation have rolled in. Unfortunately, this is not good news for those who were hoping to see the solar eclipse taking place this afternoon.

The good news is that the eclipse can still be viewed on a screen. NASA will be live-streaming the event starting at noon central time. Learn more here.

Additionally, depending on the thickness of cloud cover, it may appear darker outside during portions of the eclipse. There will also be a few partial solar eclipses happening in the next couple of years.

Otherwise, the next full eclipse visible in North America will take place in August 2044.
