Tuesday morning winter storm update: freezing rain along Highway 61 leading to icy road conditions, heavy snow through NE MN

Freezing rain has moved into the area causing icy road conditions. MNDOT is reporting heavy ice along roadways, especially on Highway 61. The freezing rain is expected to transition to snow mid-to-late morning.

Additional snowfall ranges between 2-4" for much of the area throughout the day, except the NW corning of the county which is forecasted to receive another 6-9". 


 


Organizational closures continue to roll in. Schools have cancelled classes and many businesses and organizations are closed.
