***March 21, 2024 Update: Weekend winter storm update: possible blizzard along North Shore, confidence increasing in 6"+ of snow***

For those who put their snow removal equipment away for the year, it's time to pull them back out. The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued an updated forecast for the potential winter storm this weekend - and it's looking like we may just get some snow after all.

All of Cook County has at least a 75% chance of receiving 6+ inches of snow between Sunday - Tuesday of next week. Additionally, there is at least a 50% chance throughout the county of receiving 12+ inches of snow, with higher probabilities closer to the shore.

Similar to yesterday's forecast, the NWS is advising people to keep their travel plans fluid due to snow and the potential for high winds, which could make driving difficult.

Due to the system being four days away, things can still and likely will change. The next forecast from the NWS on this storm will be issued on Thursday morning.
