Southerly winds will continue to provide the opportunity for wildfire smoke to transport into Minnesota from Texas today, Friday, though predominantly Green air quality is forecast statewide today.

Much above normal temperatures are expected through Sunday, under the influence of an upper-level ridge. Southerly or easterly winds are expected through much of this time, though they should become light and variable Friday evening into Saturday morning as a weak front moves through.

Air quality may approach Yellow values during this time, but this would be relatively short-lived due to the passage of a potent low pressure system on Sunday and associated breezy winds.
