The Superior National Forest is pleased to announce the hiring of Drew Stroberg as permanent Deputy Forest Supervisor, previously held by Shannon Rische. Drew comes to the Superior NF as the previous district ranger on the Klamath National Forest and Butte Valley National Grassland-Goosenest Ranger District.

After graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in forestry, Drew immediately started with the Forest Service. He worked seasonal timber crew positions on the San Juan, Pike-San Isabel, and Arapahoe-Roosevelt National Forests before accepting his first permanent assignment as the timber crew foreman on the Ashley National Forest. He then moved to the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest as a pre-sale forester, and then went on to be the timber management assistant on the Gunnison Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests.

“Since I started with the Forest Service, one of my goals was to have a positive impact on our employees, the landscapes we manage, and the communities we serve. I always felt that being in a line officer position would allow me to have the greatest impact in these areas. I look forward to working with everyone on the Superior”–Drew Stroberg.

A deputy forest supervisor represents and shares responsibility with the forest supervisor in providing leadership and direction to all activities on the national forest. The position also supervises staff; builds community within the organization and with partners, Tribes, and other agencies; and helps foster an inclusive workplace.
