On February 3, 2024 at approximately 1117 hours, area first responders and law enforcement responded to the report of a male who’d been struck by a falling tree at a recreational property located approximately 10 miles north of Chisholm.

Upon their arrival of emergency services, they had learned that a 66-year-old male victim, who was seated on a tractor, had been struck in the head by a falling tree that him and other family members had been clearing on the property.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Fairview Range Hospital in Hibbing with what are believed to be serious injuries.
