Has your little one had their teeth checked yet? Have questions about oral health for infants and toddlers? The Early Childhood Connections Program is excited to announce our February Co-Host, the Oral Health Task Force, Dental Hygienist, Bonnie Dalin will be at the Community Center to answer questions, provide teeth checks and apply fluoride for anyone ages 18 months and older, February 3rd from 10 – 11:30 am.

Bonnie shares, “I love being able to work with the families and children in Cook County, promoting dental care and helping to create lifelong habits for a healthy smile!”

“Our monthly socials continue to be a success,” said Jodi Tervo Roberts, Early Childhood Connections Coordinator at the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic. “Families have shared that they have met other friends who can help them with childcare so they can make it to their adult dental appointment or annual health check-up. The Oral Health Task Force has been one of our most supportive local organizations, attending most of our socials to provide tooth brushes, tooth paste, and education to families. We had a family express that their children are now more willing to brush their teeth better after Bonnie showed them how to on her ‘big mouth model.’”

A generous grant from the Lloyd K Johnson Foundation supports our Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Early Childhood Connections programming, including our Monthly Family Socials.

Generous grants from Delta Dental, Lloyd K. Johnson, Medica, Otto Bremer, Northland, MN Department of Health, and Cook County Public Health and Human Services support the Oral Health Task Force.

About the Facilitator: Jodi Tervo Roberts is the Early Childhood Connections Coordinator at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic, and coordinates Monthly Family Socials, Caregiver Book Clubs (January registration open), and sends out a Monthly Newsletter that are all geared toward families with young children.

About the Oral Health Task Force: The Oral Health Task Force works to provide dental care to the children of Cook County and the Grand Portage Reservation. We educate the community on the importance of early preventative care and promote financial assistance that makes dental care more affordable.
