We continue to partner with Cook County Public Health on the Age Friendly Cook County initiative! Your valuable insights are crucial to the success of this effort!!!!! Thanks to all who have participated in the first stage of this process by completing the online survey or attending a community listening session. It’s not too late to share your thoughts - the survey is open through January 31, 2024!! Click here to take the online survey!!

Zoom & Learn: Wednesday, January 24, noon-1pm - Age Friendly Cook County (online only)
Join Care Partners & Cook County Higher Education for our FREE monthly class that explores issues related to aging well in Cook County! In January, we'll discover how a team of Cook County residents is championing a state-wide initiative to make our systems and communities more inclusive of and responsive to older adults. Age-Friendly communities seek to enhance the quality of life for all age demographics in eight key domains, including transportation, housing, outdoor spaces, health services, and more. We’ll also get first impressions of key issues identified through the recent Age Friendly Needs Assessment Survey and community forums.  Special guest presenters are Age Friendly Cook County Project Managers Andrea Tofte, Cook County Public Health Educator and Julie Wilson, Care Partners Executive Director.  Click here to register for this online-only session!

Save the Date - March 9th
Cook County Potters will hold their "seconds" pottery sale at The Hub to benefit Care Partners from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9! Look for pottery from a number of local potters!  The pots will be sold by donation only and all proceeds will be given to help Care Partners fulfill their mission of assisting with end of life and helping support seniors to stay in their homes as they age. Many thanks to our wonderful art community for their support!

Senior Rides Volunteers Needed!
A quick shout-out that we are in need of senior rides volunteers - especially those who are willing to consider helping with medical rides to Duluth. Our volunteers are required to submit an application, complete a self-directed training program, and pass a background check.  Our volunteer drivers choose their assignments on a ride-by-ride basis and are reimbursed for all miles driven.  Give me a call or email me at [email protected] for more information or to get started on the volunteer training process!!!
